A:For Security purposes, American Express does not allow you to change your User ID.
Q: What do I do if I forgot my Password or I want to change it?
A:American Express provides you with the opportunity to change your Password online. Click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link on the Log In page and follow the directions. To complete the process, you must remember your User ID and have card account information available. If you do not remember this information please call Customer Service at 1-800-AXP-1234, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
NOTE: If you use the same User ID and Password to access both American Express and Ameriprise Financial (formerly called American Express Financial Advisors) accounts, resetting your Password on americanexpress.com will also reset it on ameriprise.com.
